Last time Blizzard went ahead to trademark something WOW-related, it was "Cataclysm", time to speculate about the new expansion (which hasn't been anounced yet  )

My guess: Same as the start of Cataclysm, people rushing to get world firsts paying 1 to 10K for a stack of ore / herbs / leather / (insert other gatherables) :ugeek:
The big money will be release day, so get those gatherers up to 85 and equip them with "good" gear (it'll be worthless when the Xpac hits as 83 greens will become better then current 85 epics)
I for one will not be queueing in a store anymore, I'll take the digital download from Blizzard store (saves me over an hour of wasting my life)

EDIT: Stickied for general speculation purposes

I've bought normal cataclysm digital edition for my two account a week or two before cataclysm release.

On release week I was busy at work, so I could only play 3-4h a day and my drood dual gatherer wasn't up at that time.

Will blizzard allows all nodes to be up during the 2-3 first days of release and next nerf to the ground as we've seen this expansion ?

I think a modified version of this might be good. It'll help keep down the prices initially with increased supply while still giving gather toons the revenue they want.

Having all gathering nodes up and running does allow people to level their professions faster, but I still think that it was unintentional at the start of Cataclysm.
Nevertheless, I'll have my Dual Gathering Unholy Deathknight ready to go (use pet as mob-fodder while gathering)
I hope they add the Pandaren race as playable (and Horde  ) and have quests like "Kung-Fu Pandaren" :D

So far I got half of it right, now if there's only a "Kung-Fu Pandaren" quest
I'll see it as soon as the Beta starts

Just got to love that we'll finally be able to play pokémon  Now everyone is going to buy pets (people that didn't buy them before, will buy them now)
Good thing some of those engineering pets require hard-to-farm mats of which I happen to have a boatload because some people don't read this forum

Unless they announce other major changes or additions, just as with the Cata release, my money will be on power-levelers of all sorts.

The number of folks re-rolling and leveling new alts will increase dramatically (not necessarily during the first day but certainly during the first few weeks) since you can't class change to Monk. Glyphs (especially Monk but also other classes for new baby Pandas), Netherweave Bags, and 78/79 Cata greens with good endings for those trying to sludge through Northrend faster should sell well. Wrath epic gems (specifically reds) may sell well as people use the Auchindoun quest pants with those gems and a leg enchant to last them through Northrend content. I've seen very few requests for heirloom enchants lately--I imagine a lot of people already have the whole set of enchanted heirloom gear--but those may pick up a bit as folks begin preparing for their leveling grinds.

Those heading for server firsts or trying to will be looking for food, flasks, and potions to help with leveling as well as keystones, bulk materials, etc. to help with their professions. Prices will drop off after a few days once the server-firsts are all done but will still remain inflated for the raiding power-levelers and non-gathering goblins unless we have an overabundance of materials as was the case with Elementium and Twilight Jasmine pre-nerf.

The pet market will be interesting, especially with the announced potential for 'leveled' pets to be auctioned. Once more pet data releases, some of the crafted or harder to find pets may increase further in price.

There is no official release date. Could be as early as April 2012 or as far away as 2013.

As far as release dates go, this thing suggests a Q2 2012 release
