Looks fake to me, but it's a pretty good one  If it's real, then recent subscribers to the guide should start asking for refunds
I especially love the 8500 members bit, when we're through cleaning up the profilespam it's going to be a lot less

EDIT: The number of members is now below 8400, that's a lot of checking folks :ugeek:

EDIT: (12 APR 2012) The number of members is now 3388, that's Orange zero-posters (couldn't go delete those now could I?) and folks that posted here.
That doesn't mean we have 3388 active members though

It would take quite alot of effort to fake that. There's even reported earnings and revenue attachments. It looks 100% legit to me.

I'm taking a previously unannounced vacation from my moderating chores for the next....oh, let's round it off to the next 20 days. During that time I will no longer be deleting spam mails, spam accounts or disruptive, off topic postings. Instead I'll just be participating as a paid-up-to-date Orange contributing member.

During that time I will not encourage my fellow Green-posting moderators to follow suit....but they may decide to do so of their own volition.

Surprised?

I'd agree, it's a lot of work for that to be a joke, but anything is possible on the interweb.

If it is legit, will it sell? Probably not. Players are feeling the decline in numbers so maybe it is a sign that Markco also thinks that wow is on the decline... But with it not hitting the reserve at $75k, I'd be interested in what price he's trying to get.

I do hope Markco is getting a fine amount of money for this little domain he built from the ground. Sadly I'm afraid it will be very difficult finding a buyer but getting the attention of big companies like Joystiq or Zam might improve the odds. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you. ;)

If I had any real say in the matter I'd never sell this "business in a box" within the hungriest gaming niche of all time, especially not for the steal I'm offering here on Flippa for it.

I know the feeling. It can be a hard decision, very hard, but it is what is needed sometimes to be able to move on with your life. A site can quickly grow to the proportion where it may earn you a lot of additional money each month but at the same time it will require more and more of your time. You can get distracted all day long thinking about how to solve this or when to get to that and eventually it stops being fun. It's a shame you have come to that part of your adventure and I bet everybody would thank you for sticking with us for so long. Thanks!

If this site gets new management, then I'd like a raise (1000$ a month to check in once in a while would be nice  )
The old management has the advantage I'm doing this to make it a better forum (like totaly free  )
Otherwise I'm considering to join Whitewolf or even abandoning this forum altogether, seems like The Consortium is getting enough attention on the blog anyway.

At this time we're a bit short on moderators (as half of the active ones went on a 20 day strike), you may notice a bit of an increase in spam.
Considering the amount of views the pornspam is getting, some of you won't mind us not being active all the time  you guys need help

EDIT: I've cleared the adminlog, there's no point in having 10K entries on who banned how many spambots when nobody but me reads them :ugeek:

Yes it's real and keep in mind the audience of that article: marketers and salesmen themselves. Sites on flippa that don't put on a show don't sell.

I was merely testing the waters and from what I've seen the sites I've created are really only worth around $50,000 with the changes to wow and lack of traffic from my absence.

I truly am trying to automate the site for myself, not just a potential buyer. Since I no longer write at JMTC, content is going down a lot and I have been working hard to implement changes and try to bring the quality it back up.

I hope I didn't offend anyone and I'm extremely grateful for all the work the admins have done here at the JMTC forums. It's not dead and it's actually been growing in terms of traffic the past few months. I've always tried my best to remove myself from these forums, for many reasons, one of them being that I felt they were yours and not something I wanted to soil. That's been my stance for forever and I think you were all better off without my random bouts of drama lol.

Whether I am running the site or someone else, things really won't change. I'm hoping that if I do or don't sell that the new writers will be able to draw a lot more traffic to the site by the next expansion.

My heart is in http://www.diablo3goldguide.net though everyone and that's where it's going to stay for the next few years.

EDIT: Remember that this forum has never earned me money. I have kept paying for it because I like the community here and what you've created. It would feel wrong to pull the plug when it's such a great resource.

Thank you so much. I will try my best to either improve the experience at JMTC by my own hand or by finding the right person to take over.

Never earned you money? What about the "Forum Membership - Over 1,000 Sold, $15 Each." you listed in your flippa posting would lead any logical person to think the forums are not making you money? Sorry but if you are going to flat-out lie like that, you better expect to be called out on it. Good business people are credible, trustworthy, and accountable to their customers.
