In the last month I've taken my net worth from may 7-8k in gold and mats to 130k+. Started off with enchanting scrolls and used the profits there to level my dk bank alts ins/alch. The problem is that I've stopped actually seeing my gold supply go up. i've been stalled around 35k for the last few weeks because i can't stop buying enchanting mats and herbs whenever i see them at a lower price.

I've had to buy 2 guilds off players (all cheaper than the bank tabs would cost) and start one of my own so far to get bank space to store everything. I've got 6 or so guild bank tabs and all my alts banks now pretty much rammed with goods. I'm starting to get worried about buying too much stuff and having prices plummet before i can liquidate. I've still got some fel lotus left over from bc taking up bank space and i don't want to get stuck with 1k of frost lotus. I'm not too worried about the other herbs though as they should shoot up in value if i get stuck with them and the exp hits.

I guess I need to go on a lichbloom buying spree as that is the only herb i currently don't have bulk amounts of and convert it all to flasks and sell with a bulk discount.

I keep trying to stop buying and even lower my price points where i'm willing to buy, but it doesn't seem to help. Everyone time i load the ah i have to look at all my shopping lists and i feel like i'm losing money if I don't snatch up all those deals....

Just lower your buying threshold, start taking only the exceptionally good deals.

I've had the same a couple of times. Sometimes during your gold making you just hit a point where your sales aren't going that great or you find way too many good deals on the AH and you see your gold going up and down by the same ammount, so you stay at 1 point. I remember having this around 30k, 70k and again at 150k, which was quite recently.

However every time I had this happen to me I made the same mistake: I stopped buying too much!
You will notice that next week or maybe even tomorrow you suddenly have a great sales day, there's not a lot of good deals on the AH and your gold ammount skyrockets. A few days like that are great for your gold ammount, but you will out of mats afterwards. And you really don't want that.

The worst mistakes I make are always: not buying enough. I've never made the mistake of buying too much. As long as you have at least a decent ammount set for items on your snatch list you will always be able to dump your stock, even if it's just by selling raw mats.

I don't think i need to worry about that. I just logged in to repost all my glyphs and ended up buying 2 more guilds with 4 bank tabs total for 300 and then saw a chinese farmer advertising cheap ench mats in trade. After i bought those he just kept opening trade and dumping eternals, gems and shards at well below market rates. i'm now down another 5 or 6k in gold. Some deals are just too hard to pass up :)

Guess i'll have to spend some time setting up qa3 with the new mats so i can eventually flip them all

The last farmer that dumped hoards of crap on me for dirt cheap I just turned and undercut the AH on them with 48 hour bids. Even though more than half of the stuff that came back so did all the gold I had invested and the rest was all profit I sold over time. Those guys are great

i find this happens with me as well, except usually when im done my cycle i have more or the same amount of gold but way more mats, the thing is that your bulk of exta mats will carry you through the dry spells when you dont the ability to get mats off the auction house. the only time its a problem is when your gold dips so low that that you miss out on investments. For example i made the mistake of taking my self so low that i couldnt afford a bulk of 600 stacks of saronite ore at 13g a stack because I haddent gotten around to proccessing my stock.

I've since found out the plus side of spending all that cash buying wholesale mats. My liquid gold has now shot up to 115k and I still have guild banks full of all the mats I was buying. I guess I was just going through a period where I needed to get the machine fully assembled and oiled and now its just printing money for me :)

I have the same problem. I keep buying and buying. What I've done is lower my price points and dedicated some time to sorting all my stuff. I still buy saronite ore 13g or less, herbs at 6-9g a stack, etc. As long as I have room somewhere I'll buy stuff. It seems to pay for itself in the long run. Example is all the saronite I've bought for 13g or less. At least 1/2 of it was less then 12g 50s so break even no matter what. I bought enchant mats (50s dust, 3g dream shards, etc.). In the last few weeks I've made over 1k gold from just the dust. Prices for dust shot back up to 1g 50 or higher many nights.

I don't know about you but I can find large number of green and blue gems for less then cut vendor price. So don't stop looking and buying.

I am getting in almost the same boat as you.

My new server appears to go in cycles. I won't see good priced herbs (14g and under for me) for a good week, then all the sudden the farmers like to all log on and post at once for 12g and under each. I picked up about 2,000 ink of the sea's worth of herbs which is a godsend because I wasn't able to get my glyph business properly supplied before this happened and my stocks were slowly dwindling.

The same goes with my enchanting mats.

I ran out of abyss crystals and then all the sudden had an explosion. As for Greater Cosmic Essences, I had to resort to crafting Shadowmight Rings and doign the Saronite Shuffle to stock up since they go for 15-20g each on my server.

I am at a loss tho, Frozen Orbs, Eternal Fires, Eternal Lifes all run at around 15-20g each. 15g is the pricepoint you see rarely.

I am now sitting on a couple hundred Snowfall Inks as well as I am out of spellfire cloth and it seems like its going to be too costly to mass craft Darkmoon Cards and Cloth at current prices.

Bumping this thread to update it. I was definitely right to keep on buying mats and build up my stockpiles even though my liquid gold was staying static. I eventually got over that hump and the mats I bought were the fuel for my AH machine. I'm now sitting at over 3M gold liquid now with who knows how much in raw mats. Bought myself an Amani Dragonhawk and a few other TCG mounts to treat myself.
