Doesn't the remote auction house create an unfair advantage to players with more real life money, than those who don't? I thought part of the Blizzard's stance on gold sellers was that it created an ingame inbalance.(something outside the game affecting what goes on inside the game)

If I can't afford to be paying blizzard $3 per month, but you can, then you can buy things on the AH faster and (sometimes cheaper) than I can. Your able to profit from something, that I can't. Aren't you essentially buying gold for $3 a month?? Isn't this a case of the rich getting richer??

No you are buying the added functionality and ability to access your favorite form of PvP from locations other than your PC. What you do with the access and functionality is entirely up to you. If you were to only buy goods at overinflated prices you would in fact be paying $3 to lose money.

If this is meant to apply to Blizzard/Activision sucking more money out of players much the way they do by allowing you to buy mounts and mini pets then yes. If you mean players with a lot of gold having the ability to make more gold then no. Without opening a socioeconomic can of worms I will generalize (possibly getting my knuckles rapped in the process) and state that the highest real life income earners who play WoW are not the same individuals who play WoW 18 hrs a day.

Let me give an example of what made me ask the questions:

Yesterday I was browsing the RAH. Frostweave normaly sells for 2g 50s and up. I saw that someone had posted 3 or 4 stacks at 1g 90s. I hit the BUY button but it said I needed the premium subscription. RATS!! SO..I logged into the game but by that time guess what...it was all gone.

SO..I got to thinking about the advantage I would have had, if I had the premium service.

NOW the amount of $3 per month is not the issue. I can afford that but it got me to thinking about people who couldn;t afford it. Even if it was $1 per month...again...the amount is totally irrelevant.

It's just a question...thats all.

Yeah, its really unfair, people who cant afford the 15$ montly WoW subscription cant play the auction house game either.

/sarcasm off

Seriously, they are giving an advantage for money, but it's not a game changing advantage, because what matter in this game is gear / boss kill.

As soon as an item is post cheap on the AH, someone will get a deal, it doesnt matter if it someone with RAH or in game. Blizzard dont care who buy stuff and i agree with them.

There is no way for you to know if someone bought that frostweave using the RAH or the ingame AH. So ... Blizz got an extra $3 from you this month.

Even using alerts from TUJ along with the RAH doesn't mean you will always get there before someone else gets that deal. But it does manage to frustrate the $@@# outta me when I get an alert and I miss a deal that I would not have known about in the first place. lol

I am loving Remote Auction House coupled with getting emails from theunderminejournal.com
Set up price points email notifications in undermine:
Here is a list of all the items for which you're currently watching market conditions. Visit any item's page while logged in to add new notifications.
You have no notifications set.You have 76 notifications out of a maximum of 300.

So I am only using 76 price setups..

I can't tell you how great it is when I got an email that formula for enchant bracers agility was 150g. You then pull over the car and buy it with your iphone.

I agree with the original poster that the remote auction house is an unfair advantage for people who have it ..just like a second account for cross faction trading.

Its fun..trust me to do this at work when your boss thinks your working.

If you can't afford the 3$ a month, should you even be playing WOW? I can afford it, but I know a useless moneydrain when I see one

It's been a huge help for me. Being able to cancel/repost during the day when I'm at work allowed me has been invaluable early on, and of course there are those sweet deals you can find every now and then.

On the other hand, these days, I'm too lazy to play the AH even semi-seriously, so I might as well cancel my remote AH sub ...

Since we're on the subject of the RAH versus in-game AH: why has Blizzard given RAH users the ability to purchase multiple stacks of [insert item] all at once and in-game you have to clickity-click your way through those 200+ stacks of the same item? IMO, Blizzard has made it easier/more efficient for the RAH. To level the playing field, they need to return the ability to purchase/post multiple auctions all at once...just my two cents :-P

Because in case of the remote auction house, it would become realy expensive to use since you have a mobile connection open.
If only people would still use those noisy 56K modems ...
