Hey all, glad I found this website as now that I have discovered ways to make massive amounts of gold, I now have an addiction to make even more!

It's funny, because I use to look at gold guides selling for $60+ and they showed screen shots of their bags holding 200K+. I now have 380K--and I made that gold in three weeks. How you ask? I run the most successful casino on my US server.

I always loved rolling when I was a roller and when I found a trick to increase my odds a bit, I made it to about 20K and started to host on my own. I always made friends easily in WoW and my personality flew across server and in no time I had high rollers who not only didn't mind losing sometime, but they loved playing with me. My trick? Being a good person and believing in Karma. I always did the right thing for people. If they were out of gold because they let their addiction take over, I would not accept bets any longer (they usually thanked me later for this); I gave VIP items to my regulars and I always gave incentives while increasing odds for players I knew would never try to screw me over. One way I would test a person's personality is by pretending I didn't know how much they traded me for the roll before I paid them out, to see if they would inflate their bet. But one thing I think really set my business ahead of any other casino, was not only the fact that I treated it as such (a business), but I ALWAYS asked for a referral. Being a salesman in real life, the one thing I was always taught, was to ALWAYS ask for a referral. In this case, I would offer a finder's fee if any of my rollers got new rollers that were not trolls or annoying. I weeded out the runners I could trust, and now I have a solid crew of ten employees that appreciate what I have done for them so much, that when they accept rolls from other players and I am logged off, they give me 25% of their earnings.

Sure, I have some horror stories (I once lost 200K to a prick because I broke my own rules feeling bad, but that's another story), but overall those stories and players who got over on me has come around full swing and I won the battle in the end. Because what goes around comes around, and I never abuse players or hope for their demise in efforts to make more gold.

Well, that is my story in a nut shell. If anyone would like to hear more I would be glad to tell some stories. Best part about all this though--I made 380K not only in three weeks, but before I ever hit level 85. I am still level 75.

Although I have no problem making gold and no need making more, but my overall goal is to him one million. Would anyone like to exchange tactics? I would love to master the AH as well. I would be glad to share my scripts and routines to help build your casino if anyone would like to assist me on bringing my 380K to 1m through owning the server's economy.

Glad I found this site and I look forward to chopping it up with all of you!

Great story- I just wanted to point out that Blizzard has effectively stated they do not want the 'Casinos" i nthe game anymore and from my knowledge have banned people for it. Perhaps it was just the spamming of casino's im not sure, just be careful none-the-less.

Yeah, it's well known that blizz simply won't allow this and will ban you if caught. So, you won't really find much discussion about this here.

Actually you are both wrong. In-game casinos are perfectly legal and NOT AGAINST the TOS. The adversing for the casinos are what breaks TOS. The spam and the l like.

I have an e-mail from Blizzard stating the following (quoted directly from e-mail) "While players may opt to privately run or participate in an in-game casino, advertising for this particular practice is not permitted in-game or on our forums in any form. Casino advertisements can degrade the quality of the environment we want to provide for our players and thus are not appropriate for the World of Warcraft."

I also have an in-game mail message from Blizzard after I filed a complain against a roller "As we do not condone gambling in World of Warcraft, it is not against the terms of service. Therefore, any gold lost during such activities, whether deemed legitimate or not, cannot be returned".

I even called them on the phone to confirm that it was okay to hold games. They said yes as long as I do not advertise because it can effect the experience for players. So at this point I have my base clientel and word of mouth travels fast. So I never advertise or even really had to. Start with the friends and it gets around.

I recently bought out the entire AH of a specific item--Volatile Air. I bought out about 300 @ 20gold (all of them avilable), then reposted most singles at 39 gold and stacks of 5 at small discounts. This raised the price of the item and now I sold some, but the undercutting came in bringing most of theirs and some of mine selling @ 37-39. I canceled about 25% of my auctions and then undercut them at about 35-36 gold a pop, still making a heavy profit. But I want to assure I sell all of them and make a good amount of profit. So I have two questions:

A.) Am I doing this right? lol
B.) How do I deal with undercutters?

Thanks guys! Hopefully you guys can help me take over the AH and hit that 1m(g) mark I am aiming for! :)

So what casino rules did you run?

What is the house portion?

All sounds too risky too me. Knowing my luck I would run into the one GM who is not aware of that fine rule and I'd be banned lol. Plus any situation where I can be scammed and/or have my banker's name slandered, with no way to correct it cause GM's won't support it? Not for me thanks

Bah, I just read your name closer. I've been trolled.

(I thought you'd made a little too much via a casino :) )

No, lol.. High Troller is like High Roller, which is why I came up with the forum name. I am not trolling here. :) My story is legitimate and I really made that much running a casino. The server is down for maintenance now. I will post screen shots as soon as I get back from work.

No one likes to troll more than me. But I wouldn't come here to do that.

In reference to some other statements: Doing a lot of the stuff via auction house is frames upon as well. And can degrade your bank alt's name as well. Such as buying out niches and changing market values. Players are going to hate when you have a lot of gold, no matter HOW you make you it. ;/

This is the kind of thing that drives me nuts. On my server, everytime the kids are off school we end up with 1, then 2 then about 35 people spamming away. I end up reporting all their asses.

Yes, that is how you flip undercuts from competition is part of the package, you list another batch to counter. If you use the mats yojuur flipping even better.

Awesome, thanks for that Spyder. I am kind of new to the AH game. I would dabble here and there but never took it seriously where I studied tactics and really paid attention to popular items and who seems to be selling the most like I do now. I have to say, I am addicted now! It's such a great feeling to totally adjust prices for a popular matt within minutes. I literally raised the market value by double for the entire server and now I am making 50-80% profit. Unreal!

(For the gentleman wondering what my tactics are for my rolling game)
I started out with friends and guildies. Told them I was hosting games but I have a little better odds for them. Roll a 65 or better get 2x your bets. Roll a 90 or better get 2.5x your bet. First win get's 2.5x! First time? NO PROBLEM. The number one rule, I would say is... ALWAYS PAY. Even if you are down 100K, people always come back and new rollers always come. Do not try to run, this will ruin your name and you lose a lot more than the immediate gold you've gained.

I really think the "First time? NO PROBLEM" works very well. It makes new rollers feel comfortable that even if they don't know how to roll, they are welcome to learn. You are going to get the occasional troll that comes and wants to roll for 10g, but I make about 500 gold a day from those trolls. 10-20g x a few times adds up!

Another thing is, don't act fake! If a roller is losing, don't type "awe".. or "too bad". They know you are in the business to win. Acting any different is just going to annoy them more when they are losing. Be friendly. Let them know that you wont take their bets if they seem to be rolling all their gold and tell them they have opportunities to make a lot of gold with you just by getting you some rollers.

Another very important tip is, TREAT IT LIKE A BUSINESS. Max bets should be 5-10K so rich players do not just keep doubling their bet until they hit. This is the reason roulette has a bet cap as well. Never go back on your rules and NEVER give back gold if someone loses it or "feel bad". I have learned the hard way and trust me, every time I have given gold back, the roller has tried to roll the gold I gave them. Also, rollers will NEVER hesitate to try and get over on you. Which is why you should not be overly kind. IT WILL be mistaken for kindness.

Anyways, I'm happy to give my two copper on running an in-game casino. Any additional information is needed, just ask! :)
