I only started prospecting after the price on elementium crashed. Seems like blue gems are pretty common. So far after 2 days work i have:

17 Demonseye
16 inferno ruby
18 ocean sapphire
16 amberjewel
15 dream emerald
20 ember topaz

Also sucks the fist weapon cant be DE'd i hope thats a bug. Got lucky crafting necklaces and rings and made an easy 15k from getting blues and selling them for 1k each.

Keep in mind that alchemist can xmute unlimited blue gems, and it only costs 3 uncommon and 3 herbs. I see a higher value getting placed on green gems once people starting raiding.

If you have an alchemist I would start saving your gems.

Ive only been doing jasper rings, made about 40 and DE'd them came out to around 2 stacks of dust and a stack of eternals. Really awesome seeing as how I was just trying to make random blue rings, dust is selling for over 1k per stack and essences are around 58g right now.

Obsidium Ore is still hovering around 400g on my server and Hypnotic Dusts have dropped from 50-80g down to 20-30g in the past 24 hours so i'm not seeing this being profitable at the moment, for me at least =/

Not to mention Green Gems are going for 100-250g EACH so take 400g for a stack of Ore you end up with 4-6 green gems at 150g each its just cheaper to AH the green gems at the moment for me. But i've been using them to level my Alchemy mainly, gotta start making that Truegold where the real money is at =P

I have definitely seen selling raw green gems and cut rare gems as the way to go. I've been buying up every stack of elementium at 200g or below (it's been hovering around 280 for the last 20 hours or so, frustratingly) and prospecting, selling raw greens and cut Brilliant Infernos for massive profits (yesterday morning, dropped 9k in ore for 15k in gems, all sold). I'm hesitating to up the price I'm willing to buy elementium at, I may sit it out until things are a bit more stable again.

Cut green gems dont move on my server at all. Im making way more selling the green ones uncut. For example bold carnelians are only 12g while an uncut still goes for 45g as fast as i can list it. Some of the other colors are even 80-120g uncut while cut are 20-40g.

With all the players now steadily starting to level their professions, that should not be much of a surprise though.

It was a bug, and has been hotfixed. I've been de'ing these all day for 2-3 Greater essences a pop.

2-3 Greaters per pop? That's the green Fist Weapon? When I get home I'm going to make some Perforators (the blue one, right?) and check my yields - Heavenly Shards are going for 150g/ea so it's probably not worth it.

I have noticed from the few stacks I have prospected that if I just sold the gems raw I could make a profit. About 25% or so of the time I get more than 1 uncommon gem from a prospect and the cheapest uncommon gem on my server is roughly 20g not to mention nightstones being 50g.

Anyone got a spreadsheet out for this?
