Blizz seems to have messed up some loot tables. Given the low price you mention, I'd say that one wasn't even aware of what he was selling.

o.o Do you know what mobs? My boyfriend's trying desperately to prepare for server first 525 LW and I'm sure he'd love it if I could provide him with a bunch of leather headstart.

That's the actual animal. Wowhead shows it in Plaguelands but obviously that's not correct. They are just outside of Menethil. Supposedly the drop rate is pretty decent. Pristine hides and Deepsea scales drop as well.

are there any mobs like this for the other professions like mobs that drop embersilk cloth?

6 stacks of savage leather currently on our ah 7-7.5k each stack. god i would love smth like this for otehr profs, since i am not really interested in leather =)

I actually ran into Uldum yesterday (Path Of Frost FTW ) and got teleported out upon entering the zone, guess they fixed it
Didn't have to use any type of cheat, just followed the coastline to Uldum (saw some temple-type building on the coastline there)
I kinda like how Tanaris got smaller, it used to feel to big for its own good
