I've set up an IRC channel at Quakenet. For all your questions, bragging and other intelligent discussions.

To learn about the ArmoryBot commands visit http://fireglow.de/wowbot.html. Here's a quick TL;DR:

Use !myrealm CONTINENT REALMNAME to set a custom default realm for all your !c queries (e.g. !myrealm EU Al'Akir).
!c CHARACTERNAME to query a character on your custom realm or the default realm for the channel. You can also provide realm and continent parameters as such: !c CHARACTERNAME REALMNAME -eu|-us|-kr|-cn|-tw, example: !c Zerotorescue Al'Akir -eu will retrieve data about Zerotorescue - Al'Akir from the European Armory.
!p CHARACTERNAME, show process for character. Same additional optional parameters and rules as above apply. (e.g. !p Thisisnotmyalt)
!g GUILDNAME get some statistics about a guild. Same additional optional parameters and rules as above apply. (e.g. !g This is not my guild)

I logged into the irc channel 3 times. Each time nobody responded. I will just assume the timezones are just too different to see anyone online in it.

Actually, if there is no on-going conversation it may take some time for people to open their IRC tab/client and see your posts. On a rare occasion this can take up to 30 minutes or even longer, but usually people are keen to respond within a few minutes.

You could try opening the IRC tab for a few hours then later look if people are actively there.

I did. It eventually timed out with zero replies.
