Hi,

I'm looking for any spots that I can stand in where mobs "feed" into me, rather than having to run around through a cave or whatnot and waiting for them to respond. Currently I do this in Icecrown where those yellow Fallen Hero's Spirits that run to a focal point and despawn. I like to sit just before that as a bear, and swipe forever. I'm not geared anything beyond a ilvl 223, and I've never dropped below like 95% health. Plus since they're yellow I don't have to worry about aggroing any more than I currently have, in case I run to the bathroom or whatnot, so I don't come back to a dead cow. As it's going I'll just randomly stop hitting swipe to loot then just start right back in. I'm debating even building a button pusher out of legos or whatnot, as I just hit #1 every second. :)

I like this despite it's not a super high yield. I'd say I make roughly 150G an hour accounting for grays, etc. They each drop between 16-37S. I like it because it's consistent and constant. It's doesn't rely on the fickleness of other players on the AH or trade. It's also an average supplier of frostweave. I didn't pay close attention but I'd guess around 2 stacks in that hour.

The reason for this is I'm evil, and will sometimes play at work when I'm stuck in the IT room all day doing patches or whatnot. I just have the windowed screen shrunk down to like a 4"x6" postcard. I do a lot of fishing this way as well.

So, are there any other of these types of places where the mobs are fed in, and I don't have to run around hunting?

Thanks all...

Hi,

Yeah as I had buried above I do this with fishing as well. The problem with that though is it gets me back into the fickleness of our AH. My server is bizarrely self sufficient and casual, so that things like Fish Feast can be in the AH for not even 2X the vendor and they sit forever. Even the fun stuff like Deviates sell for barely over the vendor.

What's sad is every fiber of me wants to buy up all that cheap stuff and relist at "normal" levels, but even at those cheap prices things just sit.

Hence why I want to stay away from it (for a while at least) and beat my forehead against my swipe button. :)

Mammoth packs in the valley by Sons spawn and run in circles. Sit in a corner and swipe. The odd Jormungar may pat close to you, but since the mammoths are yellow, you can focus it down easily. Mammoth meat sells well since it's both a buff food and a pet buff food.

I understand what you're trying to do, but that's an awfully low G/Hr. I know you want something you can toss off to the side, but you may also want to look into running some lower instances, if you have Enchanting. For example, you can do Strat or Scholo on your own rather easily, and can park yourself in a corner in between dong things.

Why farm? 150g an hour sounds terrible. I prefer the strategy of letting the poor players farm my mats for me. I just buy them up cheap on the ah/trade and flip or craft with them. Much better use of my time.

It may have escaped your attention, but this IS the farming section of the forum :)

Although I cannot guarantee it'll be easy, the spot in Scholozar where Freya and her lashers fights the undead is still viable for stationary farming (even though it was way better before they nerfed it). Mobs will spawn very quickly and aggro on you, so you don't have the freedom to go afk, but they drop nice amounts of cloth and greens quite often. I don't have the gph, but its still a place to check out, at least :)

The avalanche. This is one of my top secret "Rogue" farming spots for pickpocketing to get boxes (lvl 350 boxes), and runic healing potions. Gobs of them. But fighting the mobs is not easy with a melee combat Rogue, so I stealtyh around and mash my pickpocket macro. if you had a tank pally or druid with gobs of health and armor, I'm guessing you could stand there all day and fight and loot. Time to loot would be a problem though.

People will pay 5-10g PER Reinforced Locked Box, and the Runic Healing Potions (and 15-50s per loot) you get are very helpful. It's not a huge Gold/hour spot I would guess, but it depends.

The TOUGHEST lockpicking levels used to be from 350-400 until I found this spot. But Shhhh....don't tell anyone!!
