I realize this can differ from realm to realm, but on my mid population server this sell like.. Nothing else. Everyone and his mother want's one. If you are a Scribe without this recipe, you are not worthy of calling yourself a scribe.

Anyways, let's get down to the bread and butter. My inks cost me roughly 2g each. It takes 5 to produce it, plus 10 Resilient Parchment's for 50 silver each and 3 eternal shadow's (2,5g each on my server). Total cost is 22,5g.

Now to the sweet part:

I am the only one that i know of on my server that have this recipe, therefore i decided to inflate my prices alot. There are five different "colors". Giant White, Giant Black, Giant Grey, Giant Red and simply Giant. When you craft the offhand, any of theese have a chance to spawn, although Giant Red is rare, and Giant seems to be even rarer.

My prices now is 100g for the normal colors and 500 for the red one, I haven't got any Giant's yet but the point is that it all sells at a very big profit rate. I've sold about 20 of the normal colors and 5 reds, netting 4500g in less than 24 hours.

The recipe drops in Silverbrook, Grizzly Hills and has a 2% droprate, took me a grand total of 10 minutes to farm it. Good luck out there.

My scribe is 65 and doomed to stay that way until Cata. :( I dearly wish I could get this recipe though.

Hi, I read this last night, and went and farmed this on my scribe. I think it dropped on the 5th mob or so, no idea if I was just lucky.

Anyways, I went and checked the AH and didn't find it there. So late last night I made 2 of them. Got 1 red and 1 black. I had no idea what to set the price to though.

The inks are around 2.5g each and the eternal shadows are around 20g each on my server. So I posted the red one for 510g BO, and saved the black one to see what would happen.

This morning I checked and it wasn't sold. So I started thinking that since its a blue item which isn't lvl 80, perhaps ppl didn't see it. Unless you looked specifically for it. I wasn't sure about advertising about it in trade though. Since its easy to get and there are quite a few glyph players on my server I was afraid that I'd tip ppl of. :)
I took the chance though and posted in trade that it was available in the AH, and advertised it as a transformation item.
Literally 10 seconds after I pressed enter I see the message "sold" in the chat window. So I waited a few minutes then posted the black one at the same price 510g BO. Advertized about it in trade, only once, and about 5 minutes later I got the sold text.

1000g+ income in 5-10 minutes... I love it. :)
My question is what is your experience with this item. So far I'm the only on posting it in the AH, but I've got no idea what a good price is. Was the 500g sales lucky? My third one is posted at 710g now. We'll see how that goes. Haven't advertized about it.

Any suggestions? I know its server dependant, but what is your experience from the vanity pet, tranformation-item-gathering members of the wow comumunity? A.K.A our golden lambs. :P

EDIT: hmm..perhaps it is a lvl 80 item...I forget. :P

It is a levl 70 item, and as I said, I'm on a low pop server with not alot of glyph competition and so on, so I have been spamming trade for 2 days. I think 500 is a bit overpriced. I wrote in my initial post that I sold red's for 500g, but I had to lower it to 250 to be able to keep selling them. The rest of them goes for 100g each.

I have yet to see any plain "Giant" wolf costumes after about 100 crafts, so I suspect that I'll sell that one for alot of gold if I find the right buyer.

My server recently became high population, but we have typically been medium. Any kind of gimmicky item (super monkey ball, eye of deception, New Moon) have always sold well. Vanity pets have always been hit or miss. The whelplings tend to do really well.

Also, I am completely being honest when I say this, advertise around June 30th. It's the day when the new Twilight movie comes out. You'd be shocked how people just eat these things up around that time.

Thanks for this tip! Got the pattern in 10 mins. Mats cost about 30-40g on my server. Been selling 7 of them for 395g each during the evening. It takes some advertising to get them sold, but it's a huge markup!

Hmm...I think I need to tone down the price a bit it seems. The 500g sales where a bit lucky. :) Crafting cost is around 120-140 on my server though.

This is a lot higher than a 2% drop rate. Closer to 20% maybe even 30%. The reason why sites like wowhead show it as such a low drop rate is because non scribe can not get the drop. Similar to bop JC recipes.

But yes. It takes maybe 10 mins to farm. I got mine within like 5 mins.

You'd be surprised at what spamming trade chat will net you. Honestly I could care less about the color, as long as I'm selling for 100g a pop I'm turning right about 75g profit per book.
