This is partially a rags-to-riches story, along with a yay-story. I'll start with the nub story, because it has me giddy!

I have been using the strategies from Markco's guide, this blog, and a few of the other blogs (woweconomicreview), and I was "doing my thing" in the auction house. Since I don't have a scribe yet, I have just been flipping glyphs that Auctioneer told me were good buys. After about a month of this, I get a message from a lvl 6 bank-alt:

"What are you doing?! You will buy out a glyph that I have posted for 3g, and repost it for 9g (because that's what Auctioneer told me to do)... but then you will undercut my 50g glyph and post for 7g (again... using the appraiser tab of auctioneer)."

I simply responded that I was new to the AH, and especially the glyph market, and if he had any advice to offer, I was all ears. He told me to get QA (which I already had, but hadn't set up yet), and he walked me through HIS settings for the AH. As we began to talk more, he told me that he has made over 375K with inscription, and can pull in as much as 6-7K a DAY!!!! (I am excited to make 500-700 a day). He then tells me that in QA, I am on his whitelist (ZOMGodZ!) The largest glyph seller on my server has put me on his whitelist?!!! Are you F-ing kidding me?!!!

This is proof that you don't have to be able to set up a "glyph wall" to mess with someone's market. He said that I was DESTROYING his market (he used caps... not me), and I only have ~150-200 glyphs on the AH at any one time (most of those are 3-5 of the same glyph).

Now to my "riches" story.
I have officially hit 12K in-game, with somewhere near 600 active auctions (all on one bank-alt). This is the most gold I have ever made, and I definitely have the "make more" bug. I can't wait to get home from work every day to check my mail and work the AH. I think the best feeling comes from reporting spammers... (let me explain):

In the past, when I saw those gold-seller spams in /2, I was always tempted to check it out. I had "some" gold (enough for repairs and the rare optional expense)... but I wanted more (a LOT more), and knowing that 10/20/30K was just a web site away was tempting. Now that I have 12K+, I don't even hessitate to click the "report" button on these posts.

Right before I posted this thread, I was reading through the 30K+ thread, and thought twice about saying I had "riches"... but we all start somewhere, and I can see myself posting in that thread VERY soon. Some people here make my 10K in a day, but I will get there one day soon. I plan to keep this post updated as I grow, as sort of a mini-log of my climb to gold-cap.

Goal #1: Hit 20K gold (liquid) by June 30...

Good luck and gogo!! I should be around 50k but when I hit 30 started packing away cataclysm mats and bought some upgrades for alts. But yeah I'm workin slow since I'll prolly pull about 50k in at cataclysms release. Keep makin it but pack away for the expansionn so u can watch your numbers skyrocket!! Don't forget to have a lil fun too,inbetween ravaging the ah.

I have started warehousing some mats for the Cat launch. I think I have almost a full tab of Thorium Ore (for prospecting), and am SLOWLY stocking up on Netherweave. I need to get my scribe to max level so that I can stop USING all the herbs that I am getting off the AH. I want to get to 20k, and then I am going to take 1/2 of that, and funnel it off to a new bank-alt to start stocking up on mats. He will spend ALL of it, and just bank the mats... rinse repeat.

My goal is to have 4-5 bank alts with FULL BANKS to just dump. I want to have one that deals with herbs, one for ore/bars/etc, one for talioring mats, one for enchanting mats, and one for glyphs. It is going to take a few days/weeks for the gylphs to really hit their stride when Cat launches, but when people are ready, there are going to be a LOT of new toons that need them. The reason that I want to keep them specialized, is so that the actual toon can have the specialty bags to minimize the number of trips from the bank/mail to the AH. 4x Mammouth mining bags for one, 4x Mysterious bags, etc.

Will I be able to save up 50k gold to reinvest before Cat? I don't know... but that's the goal.

As for spending on "the good stuff", I bought Rowan's Rifle yesterday (the 264 tanking gun), but the one I REALLY want is Wodin's neck for my Hunter. Probably won't buy it, because that is 7-10K gold that I could use to buy mats... but I would like that the most (followed closely by the tundra mammouth).
