I dont know when this kicked in but I was researching the trial account info today and discovered that trial accounts are level capped at 20 and have a lot of additional restrictions. So if you are going to "RAF abuse" then you are going to have to pay for at least a month of the second account. That said, I think if you do this your veteran gets a free month so its a wash. I could be wrong though about the free month thing. Anyone know for sure?

Trial accounts last 10 days and are limited to level 20. This does not require a box purchase, so you can create and discard as many guest accounts as you want.

The first month of the RAF account is included with the purchase of the box. (The $5 weekend special was a steal, I picked up a whole stack.)

The second month costs money, but credits the original account with a free month.

The third month, you pay for both accounts.

Zam,

Thanks for clearing that up. Sounds like you did get a good deal, I definitely wish I got in on that. So now I just have to figure out the cheapest way to get another copy of the game to do some RAF leveling. Im definitely aiming for some sort of team like you listed in your original post, although I may break the professions down differently due to market differences on my server. Again, thanks for the insight.

Now, would it be useful to change one of those alchemist or Jw into a LW? For armor kits/caps or just having a friend make them is enough?

I did decide to keep LW after my LW contact vanished for a couple of weeks. There's two schools of thought on this - once to cover every profession, and the other to abandon anything that doesn't have a gold-making cooldown. (I know people who just have ten Alchemy/Tailors, and they manage just fine. I'm just a cheap bastard that doesn't like giving away money, so I'm still stuck on the first path.)

My current lineup us looking like the list below. As it stands now, I'll be producing 3 Dragon's Eyes and 7 epic gem transmutes each day. It's not how I'd do it if starting from scratch, but I'm forcing myself to quit dropping professions until we know more about Cataclysm. If the cooldowns in Cataclysm look promising, it will be tempting to streamline it even more.

Warlock (Enchanter/JC)
Shaman (Blacksmith/JC)
Warrior (Alchemy/JC)
Mage (Alchemy/Tailor)
Priest (Alchemy/Tailor)
Hunter (Alchemy/Inscription)
Druid (Alchemy/Herbing)
Paladin (Alchemy/Mining)
Death Knight (Alchemy/Engineering)
Rogue (Skinning/Leatherworking)

How would you do it differently if starting from scratch? I'm at a phase now where I'm approaching some monetary goals so swapping over to this type of technique. I have a good mix of professions already on my 3 80's, and have enough mats in my gbank to powerlevel alchemy on 5 alts.

Is it still worth keeping your skinning/herbs? I know mining has a CD you can use, but what about the others?

I've decided that this is something I am going to do.

Just a few questions for those that have done it before and are more up to date on this.

I remember it taking about 3 days for the temp account thing to be lifted where being able to go past level 20 is possible. The 3 day cd is from when the 2nd month is purchased? True or not?

On My main account I have a 80 priest, 78 lock, 70 mage. On my 2nd account, I have my 80 pally bank toon. My pally will be the one I run the raf toons through instance grinding. Is there any rule as far as 1 class per account? I am probably making this part really confusing, but in the end, I would like for all my toons except the pally to be on my main account. I would like to level a shammy/druid for sure, so that wont be a problem. I would just hate to spend time and gold on a class I already have and then not be able to xfer it to my main toon(though realisticly I could just move it to my pally bank alt account)
Sorry for any confusion on this part I'd just like to make sure I set myself up for the cleanest possible ending as far as accounts.

I remember reading somewhere where the price of flying was being reduced. What is it now..price wise?

I understand the part of wanting boa items for post 60. I guess that the RAF bonus is superior to boa items and boa bonus doesnt stack with RAF? I ask because....How can the non veteran account get BOA gear to stay even during leveling?

Thank you for any help in clearing this up :)

You are able to level past 20 as soon as you pay, but features such as mailing, trading etc, take longer. Somewhere between 1-3 days.

Not sure about this one, but you can just try making 2 level 1's the same class.

All mount skills were reduced. Regular flying is around 250 while epic is 4000. (Didn't check myself, just asked a friend)

The bonus does stack, but you shouldn't do it. I tried it and it works. but then the main account will get too far away from your recruit a friend in XP.
