Update: Blizzard has fixed the auction house posting API and you can no longer automate it with addons as the game requires a single user interaction for each auction posting job. The plugin below is useless but the thread remains for historical purposes.

Yesterday I wrote a small plugin for Quick Auctions; an addon allowing you to continuously do a post scan and list additional items when undercut using Quick Auctions.

Download: http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addo ... oster.aspx

This addon will add a checkbox to the auction house post frame next to QA's buttons and toggling it on will cause your next post scan to repeat itself over and over until you untick the box, close the AH or log out.

Please note though, even though this is legal with Blizzard's Terms of Use, End User License Agreement and UI Add-On Development Policy, a game master may still ban you (as you probably have seen the past few days of these forums where people get banned for 72 hours for pretty much anything) because it may look shady and because the ToU is vague enough to allow them to ban for anything, but in the end it should be legal.

I won't take responsibility for any consequences this may have, so use at your own risk. All we do is execute another addon's main functionality which has been approved by Blizzard (otherwise it wouldn't have been available for so long and to so many people).

I wouldn't ever leave my computer for more than 30 minutes while posting a lot of auctions. Although there appears to be no record of any bans for just using an addon (as Blizzard has always just disabled the addons in question - read up about BottomScanner and AVR for examples), you may still want to be a little bit careful. I found QAPoster extremely handy when posting while watching a movie/some series, coding, raiding/playing on another character on a different account, working near your computer, etc. but I strongly advice to leave the sounds on and get a recognizable whisper sound so you CAN respond to people (see WIM for an example).

Edit:
Want to discuss the legality of this addon? Please first read this post and thereafter (until Markco's post should do).

Yeah... there are a lot of ignorant GMs around. But I even find the addon a bit exploiting (no pun intended, great job!).

Anyway, let's say I leave it working while I do stuff at home. Will the server bump me to the character screen for inactivity while the addon is repeating the loop?

Je ne sais pas.

I believe to have seen my poster go /AFK while posting in the past so I don't think it will. You will have to test it though in order to be sure. :( Still, I'd do a manual cancel run and retrieve mail from mailbox (or the bank) every few minutes to keep my stock up.

you really can not just walk away, this is best if you are watching a movie on your computer or multi boxing. You will be logged out due to inactivity at a certain point. However this is a great tool to frustrate those AH camper's on Raid days.

Yes, you will AFK out.

I've increased the timer on my setup, though. Just rescanning every second seemed a little too bottish for my taste. I know that this is all legal and within the TOS, but if I was on the other end, trying to undercut me it would just scream "Report me!".

Forgot to update, disabled a bunch of addons that still were expendable with the posting alt and it's working now... though no idea which particular one it was.

BTW, I want to modify the frequency it does reposting, have no clue about lua or programming, but I guess it is this line, right?
Quote:
self.t = self:ScheduleTimer("Continue", 1);

Yes, change the 1 to number of seconds waiting you want. I've put in 300. That should give me 3 rechecks in the 15 minutes before I get booted for AFK. I only have 3 of each scroll right now anyway.
