Hey folks! Cente here from the Trade Skill Master team! First of all I'd like to thank you folks for your overwhelming support so far! We've had hundreds of emails asking to alpha test, and we're getting some great feedback! Anyone who hasn't got an invite yet: be patient! We are inviting a cluster of people daily and you will get your shot!

I want to let you folks know that we have been very attentive toward JMTC and many of the other auction communities and that, unlike some of our competition, we want to really listen to what you folks have to say about our projects. We really agree with Markco's original philosophies along the lines of 'this stuff isn't rocket science! anyone can do it if the put the time in!'. Such is the focus on our current project, Trade Skill Master, where our main goal is to make auction profit simple enough for everyone, regardless of previous knowledge, while allowing for tons of customization options for all of you goblins out there. We also know what a headache our competition can cause regarding the sheer number of tools you all have to download (and have to keep hoping the authors maintain) and want to give you a one-stop modular solution for pretty much anything auction-related you can think of.

I thought I'd open up a question/answer/suggestion thread here. Let me know your thoughts and I will try to maintain this thread as often as possible! Please also know that our irc channel is up at #tradeskillmaster @ quakenet, purposely on the same irc server as #JMTC, and that we're online there most of the time.

Again thank all of you for your support!! Let us know what we can do for you, keeping in mind that our project is in alpha stages right now and we have a lot planned! Please keep bugs and development stuff off here, as that's what the IRC channel is for!

First off let me say I absolutly love Scroll Master and APM from you guys, both are excellent addons - for a long time ive been dreaming of an addon similar to Scrollmaster but for Gems, is there any plan to bring this similar functionality to Tradeskillmaster?

I have been using Scroll Master along with APM now since I got into the AH market and all I can say is WOW. It makes the process of making profit from your professions so easy and such a pleasure. Awesome work on that

I have been testing the Alpha version of TSM now aswell and I am really impressed and if you can get it to the point of stability as Scroll Master then I can hardly wait. I am licking my lips in anticipation. All the added features are tantalizing enticing

Any idea when the the APM integration into TSM will be complete if not already there. I really miss being able to export the various costs, thresholds etc to APM like I can do with Scroll Master for the other professions

A feature I would like to see has to do with the profit calculation. Currently its based on difference between cost to produce less lowest price on AH. This is okay when there are lots of these items on the AH indicating that is probably market value. However when there is only one item on the AH this is probably over inflated and thus the quoted profit is not a true market reflection. Granted if there is only one of an item then undercutting that means if someone wants it bad enough they will pay that. I would just like for the profit calculation to not look at lowest cost on AH and maybe look at market cost or alternatively when listing AH cost indicating how many there are at that price perhaps as a tooltip. This should be an optional setting though. Maybe this is already implemented and if so I apologize for my question

Is there a way to indicate which items to be crafted are selling most often?

While using Skillet (I'm not sure if its a skillet feature or if another addon modified its behavior), I can tell how many times an item I'm crafting has sold, not sold and what my net profit is based on money gained from sales and deposits lost. This can help move me towards more popular (and ultimately more profitable) items.

Does TSM have anything like this?

I can tell you that we're going to integrate everything so much that you're not going to have to look at the old APM configuration unless you need to tweak a setting. Everything is going to be outputted properly without much other effort.

Actually everything is calculated per our auctiondb market average :-) We're going to have a spontaneous profit mode too where you can look at maximum profit for -current- non-average numbers. [/quote]

I believe we already have stats to tell you how many you've -crafted- (checking to see if something has actually sold is kinda outside our scope for now, we don't really see ourselves adding a beancounter-like feature but it may happen sometime). I think we'll be adding a feature to help you remove any recipe that has been crafted under a certain amount. Say you have TSM running for awhile, you'd be able to quickly see that there's a bunch of things that you've made 10+ items for (to fill the stock you've sold) but there are a few that are under that number. Well, just hit a button and everything under, say, 5 total crafts would be removed all at once. We might make it so this check happens when you hit the queue button too (and recommends you take certain recipes off).

Any word on the official release date on this addon? Ive downloaded and tested the Curseforge download but im assuming this is an older version as it doesnt include cataclysm support as far as I can tell. Im itching to get my hands on this and have as yet been unsuccessful in getting into the closed beta :*(

No it is not too late to get into the closed alpha. We are working towards a public beta as quickly as possible but there is still a lot to be done. We will have an official release date once we get into the public beta phase which is still an undetermined date. Check out the alpha if you are interested. We are getting people in as quickly as is practical.

Note: we are not providing any support if you aren't in the alpha and get a copy of the project. This isn't just to be mean but it is a closed alpha for a reason.
