I'm on Firetree, alliance side, and we have 0 Elementium ore. Causing the JC/enchanting method to become almost completely worthless. I have Alchemy on another toon, 0 gathering proff's due to the Ore market being absolutely amazing 2 weeks ago, pulling in 45k profit in 3 weeks time. (Not much, but I was happy). When there is ore, it's up to almost 100-150g a stack, I used to get it for 40-45g a stack.(10-15 stacks up at a time now)

Anything I can do to pull in gold? Any Alchemy/JC/Enchanting idea's I can use? I haven't made gold in almost a week.

Thanks guys :)

If the method that you're making gold with doesn't work for a while, then it is time to either switch professions (probably not a great idea for you) or consider leveling some alts so you will have a wider spread of professions.

You've got a 45k buffer, so you should be fine in the mean time. Just don't go out spending too much until you get back on your feet.

The last suggestion I can make. Think about advertising on trade chat about buying ore at x price. You never know, you might find yourself a regular supplier.

I'd suggest to try to find the farmers/farm bots on your server. Even when the AH is empty they could be selling. For example I didn't buy much ore on the AH in the last month because the price is constantly around 60g/stack and my limit is at 40g, but that doesn't matter, because the farmers on the server know me, and they're sending the ore directly to me at 40/stack in COD instead of putting it on the AH. The best thing you could do to boost your supply is to agree on fixed prices with the suppliers.

I dropped JC on my Paladin (Since I'm already maxed on my Druid) to level Tailoring, bags seem pretty decent at the moment.

I did have a supplier, 3 actually. But it seems they noticed the insane increase in Ore and won't go below 65g a stack. Which is insane for Ore I used to pay 20g less for. I'll probably level my Mage up and transfer to alliance.

Thanks guys :)

I'm not too bothered by long-time trends. For a while, I didn't buy elementium above 35g a stack, and did decent profit. These days, I'm lucky to get it at 60g, more often 70 or 80g, and I'm making more money than ever before, because the gem market followed the elementium prices.

Bottom line is, either use a spreadsheet to determine whether it's still profitable, or if like me you're a lazy bum, just jump in and buy a few dozen stacks, and see whether you make money.

The gem market did certainly follow, Inferno rubies are up to 150-200g each up from 80-100, the only problem, no one is buying them, I have 40 atm from the ore I did have left over, had them for almost 3 days without 1 sale.

Are you selling them raw or cut? I just discovered a friend of mine was trying to sell them raw, with - unsurprisingly - little success

Raw, I've never sold them cut, the reason, is because after they buy I see "LF JC to cut 40 intel gems" then I am like "Hey I can do it!" then I make a tip + what they spent. I've never had a problem until now. The Alliance market on my server has crashed something fierce. Just trying to find ways to keep on my feet until the server gets back to normal. I have almost 15k worth of rubies. They just won't sale..

On my server, raw rubies don't really sell, but cut rubies sell like hot cakes. YMMV, but overall, there are many more people interested in cut gems than in raw gems.
