G'morning!

I was wondering if anyone else picked up a lovely e-mail from 'Marcko' this morning about some blahblahblahamazingDPSblahblahblah site. Didn't click the links 'cause they were ugly but was wondering if a) they're legit and b) there's a way to get off of that mailing list if it is legit. If they're not legit, hay, Marcko, you're hacked, bud!

Ironically, I opened and read through some JMTC posts this morning (haven't done so in months 'cause I quit WoW) and MSE went nuts over a java exploit detection. Hopefully it was a false positive; I can't read these logs.

Yeah I got it too. Ironic that it happens right when we see Marcko is selling the site. Don't click any of the links.

To quote one (which arrived in my spam box so I'm assuming the headers do not match the sent-address);

It's Markco. I'm pretty excited about this.

It seems that the blog and forums were sold 2 days ago, for 50k US according to the link :

https://flippa.com/2640812-4000-minimum ... s-in-a-box

I've yet to personally hear from the new owner, other than the same three spam e-mails.

Don't click the links, my mailbox is indicating that those mails weren't sent by this forum (they only pretend they were)
It's actually not that hard to have mails looking like they were sent by someone else :ugeek:
I used to send pranks to family and friends as osamabinladen@somesecretcave.com guess now it has to be osamabinladen@thebottomoftheocean :mrgreen:

Has some information. To summarize; apparently the site was sold, ownership was transfered that same day, a mailing list was then created by the new owner and mails were created but some incomplete versions were then sent.

Heard something about the "Mackco" persona being sold as well, so Markco may not be Markco. I do hope the new owner isn't planning on monetizing his user list by handing it over to the spammers.
