Situation. I bought out miss priced items on the auction house.
( He did not come clean , he tried to play a game to get them back and he lost.)
( I would normally give such items back to someone requesting them politely. )
3 days later i get a tell. ( part of the conversation )

Third party would be a software out side the game.

This is the kind of situation a new auctioneer could of been taken advantage of.

He came at me as if he was referred by a fellow guild player. ( doubtful , but ok... ) He then asked me what type of "bot" software / "automated" system i was using to buy auction so quick , he wanted tips for himself ( hence the "you are dumb" comment above ) ( I knew his name , i remember grabbing cheap stuff from him , so i was suspicious of his intentions ) I told him what i used of course ( Auctioneer ) After telling me how it was impossible for a human to buy out things so fast ( because refresh scans are illegal right? ) ( so is shift+click ) He told me i could give him his stuff back with no consequences , he will drop it. ( he was some what careful to not make it sound like a threat , i of course told him he was doing exactly that. ) He later told me he reported me 3 days ago.

So what is the point of this thread? Making fun of a player? Of course not. ( Just a little ) What i am saying here is , know your right in this game , do not let others fool you with these kind of speech. Don't let someone intimidate you.

Did i need his "shit" , of course not. Did i want to give it back after the way he approached me? never. We all made that mistake of miss pricing an item , we all did , it's frustrating , but it's a good lesson.

When you post something on the auction house , it becomes fair game! if you are lucky , you will hit a charitable soul , i am not one to strangers. I'm an auctioneer.

But auctioneer is fair , everyone can have access to it , it's free. I offered him to download it , he declined. He does not want to have an edge , well too bad.

I heard that gaming gear ( keyboard , mouses , headphones ) were unfair in my gaming days , but that an add-on available to everyone , you got to be kidding.

This was a very fun discussion , i normally only get trolls and such , but this was delightful.

I started then realized it's going to take for ever to do. I don't have any fancy editing software , it's slow in paint.

But like i said , this is a warning to auctioneers , when you buy it , it's yours! if you feel kind-hearted go ahead and give them their stuff back , but they cannot force you in anyway to give it back. ( This is another good reason to play the AH with a bank and not a main toon ) I started selling and buying on one of my crafters ( of course it is guilded , great perks )

Though really, Blizzard ought to improve the default UI.

Yes and no , they are protecting themselves from people like i mentioned above. It's always some else fault , the prompt is there so people don't make accidental purchases and then ask for a GM's help for the recovery of their gold. ( it is clearly stated in game , in the help menu about the auction house ) If someone wants to buy faster , he can get auctioneer by himself , if that person cannot do this simple task , it's probably better for his own good to stay away from it.

The second someone said to me "I want my shit back" I would have blocked him and reported him.
Because anyone who made a mistake that they posted something then blamed you for buying something at a good price is a jerk and he is at fault not you.
Don't worry about hate mail or hate tells.
If you play the auction house...hate mail really is fan mail.

I don't use addons, but even I am aware that people who do use them will sometimes be able to work faster then me.
It's not like they're botting or anything, there's still interaction involved in the purchase.
And then there's the golden rule of the Auction House: "If you missprice stuff, it's your loss, deal with it"

It's not like this guy I once made a deal with to buy something COD, and he forgot to check the COD (so he actually sent me money )
In those cases I do the honorable thing (after all, like in any businessdeal, a word should be as good as a signature) and I send back both money and payment.
But ask a cheap price on the AH (neutral or faction) and It's "finders keepers", no point in going all cry-baby
