That's one thing I have found about people perhaps new to IRC have not understood over the years - Idling. A lot of people log on to IRC to just read when they feel like it, or just to sit there and BE there whilst doing something else and talk from time to time. If you say you logged into a channel and asked a question that was not answered so the *room wasn't working* then you are probably missing the point, it's not like a live customer service facility on the web where you can ask a Q and have immediate assistance, it's just really hanging out, albeit passively most of the time.

Just my observations, I've been using IRC since 95 and at first I also wondered what the point was when there was only occasional chat and whatnot when I started off.. then I *got* the whole irc mentality.

I could see this being a great hang out spot the evening of patch day. At least when not frantically running around trying to keep stock on the AH.

Yea, it seems to be quite active.

23:11 from Q - Total 103 users: 4 opped, 1 voiced, 98 others, 4 with flags (3 ops, 2 masters)

Not sure if this was the exact peak.

This sounds like a good idea, but I have two suggestions.

#1 Don't have this on a Friday.
#2. Have it later in the day. 7pm EST = 4pm PST and people are still at work.
