They've brought the price down for elementium ore on my server to below 40g per stack. I am buying EVERY bit of it out. Start about a week ago, prospecting, transmuting the carnelians to inferno rubies, as well as transmuting to meta gems. I'm to the point that I have a guild tab filled with uncut meta gems, three guild tabs with rare gems (three rows of each color) and two tabs of common gems.

But the good part of it, is I'm currently so overwhelmed with common gems, I'm simply cutting and vendoring every color but red, making the gold back that I spent on the ore just by doing this, so every rare gem is pure profit!

In the past week, I've seen my total gold level raise by 65k, as well as purchasing two new tabs in my gbank (the 2500 and I think the other was 5k, forgot)

So I say now, keep these botters around! I am loving them!

(this post in no way supports those who go out and attach outside software to exploit this game, I am currently taking adventage of a large supply of ore thats available in the ah)

Well actually this post isn't, but you are by buying their ore

Not everyone has deep pockets in this stage of the game, some people even struggle to get 30G (OK, they should read "making gold for dummies", but still)
Bots kill the effort of honest (but poor) players trying to make gold by farming ore, herbs or leather.
They also turn the gold-making game into a brainless "buy it on AH and sell it to the vendor" type of thing.
A guild filled with bots could probably be programmed to do instances and farm BOE epics, it's great if you got the cash for 1000G BIS epics,
but it's killjoy when your guildraid gets one of those and then sees it's worth a lousy 100G per person, where in a bot-free environment that would be 3000G each.

I agree with Riyoku. For a while I was really psyched about getting so much cheap ore. But now it's like there's no challenge or strategy to gold making, just "How long am I willing to watch Netflix and hit a prospect macro?"

They're ruining gold making for me. =[

I am really surprised how much the powers that be at wow allows botting not just in the auction house but in the battlegrounds.

Bots were awesome and exciting when I first found them selling under the vendor price. I watched a bunch of TV shows and Movies while I prospected. After a month I kind of gave up. The point that I buy ore has gotten lower and lower b/c I value my time more (53g ore no thank you).

Eventually what I have done is share the obsidium ore with a couple guidlies. They have in turn gone nuts. One guy has gotten up to 80k doing it. The other guildy has only been doing it for around 2 weeks. He has gone from 2k to 9.5k.

It is hard to pass up under 54g obsidium it is literally like printing money in wow.

As I said in another thread, I buy it all, distribute it to guildies who are willing to prospect for a price, then have them mail the mats back to me. Spreads the money around to friends plus I save a ton of time. I mean honestly, if I can buy elementium for 40g a stack and have it prospected and sent to my banker for 5g a stack, which btw = 20g a min for whoever is doing it, then I call it win win. It sure as hell beats farming herbs.

Your big issue is you only have a monopoly while you are logged in and snatching all that ore, the moment you stop someone else can do the same and your massive overstock is going to be harder to shift

Secondly anything sat in your bank is not earning you gold, get it sold... use the gold to buy more mats. Stockpiling is pointless unless there is a specific thing you are waiting for.. like with pyrite and epic gems

Want to know whats even better? All the gold is being put into the economy, not just being pulled from other players :P

So let me get this straight....

A few of you are quietly complaining either that making gold is too boring this way, or complaining that the ...let's call them "dedicated mat farmers"....are posting the stuff too cheaply, ruining the gold making efforts of others less fortunate.

Its not our job, its Blizz's, to get rid of the "dedicated mat farmers".

While they are here and polluting our pristine markets with cargo containers of ore and herbs, it's the duty of those with wealth to make sure we pick the ah clean of all underpriced goods, so that our less-privileged brethren can go back to listing their elementium ore at 60g a stack. Buying and processing all the cheap goods isn't just a profit venture, its a sacred patriotic act to keep the economy afloat.

So go forth, young capitalists, and save your respective worlds. You have my blessing.
