This is one of those annoying "I'll reply even though I can't answer your question" responses

It's hard to say one way or the other because I haven't seen any definitive answer on what is happening to the shadowmourne questline. I will assume it will remain, as with most other legendaries, although I think they will perhaps change how you obtain shadowfrost shards. The major point being, we have no idea if killing the lich king after obtaining said legendary, will still result in a chest and the vanity items, if this is removed, then the mount is going to be worth perhaps 10x that amount! ... if the reward chest remains, then it's value will most likely DECREASE due to how easy it will be to farm.

My advice is to hang on to it, wait for clarification of what is changing (if anything) with the shadowmourne questline, and reward for killing lich king with shadowmourne, then if a) no longer obtainable = SELL... b) still obtainable = USE, or sell for what you paid and then go farm one ;)

Considering the guild achievement for Legendaries, they will be keeping Shadowmourne in the game and available.

I'm not sure what the mount will fetch in Cata. If it flied like the Horseman's Mount, it'd be worth good money (100k easy). If it's merely a ground mount, it'll be worth much less.

As an aside, expect Swift Spectral Tigers to fetch upwards of 500k, with the goldcap increase. It will happen.

People definitely are going to farm Shadowmourne in cataclysm. But will as many people be farming the legendary as there are on live, right now? Certainly not. This mount will continue to be extremely rare and can only go way up in value.

In Classic, if you had 2000 or 3000 gold, you were quite wealthy. In burning crusade, maybe 20-30k. Right now, I feel like 200k is chump change. The inflation is only going to get worse. Where are the new gold sinks? Not nearly as much as paying 5000g for Artisan Flying back in BC.
