This seems to have been prophetic, since the bots are back with their cheap herbs, and I do mean cheap.

Has anyone thought about ToC pets. I recently bought 8 pets for a very good price but i started wondering if i should save them for Cataclysm.

I doubt anyone will be doing ToC dailys and they might become quite rare.

Since Cataclysm is fairly close, I've stopped stockpiling almost entirely. I still have half a guild bank tab full of herbs in case there are any price spikes in the market, but right now and until Cataclysm I expect to be buying from the AH on an as-needed basis only.

I would suggest that you start liquidating anything that might decline in value, either now (e.g. Primordial Saronite) or when Cataclysm is released, and stockpile things that are likely to increase in value (e.g. Netherweave Cloth and possibly Frostweave Cloth).

Stockpile early expansion mats. Felweed, fel iron, etc. for BC and Goldclover and cobalt for Northrend. If they continue the pattern they started with WotLK, you will be able to start into cataclysm materials at a skill level of 425 instead of 450. That means that the amount of the higher level ores and herbs you need iwll be drastically reduced, but everyone and their brother will want the early ones.

Also, stockpile the ever loving snot out of Netherweave. Buy all you can at a decent price. All of it. Make alts to hold it all. Turn it into bolts to save space. Day one of Cataclysm will see thousands upon thouseands of netherweave bags sold at exorbitant prices. Be ready.

Vanity banker items. We will see a storm of new worgen bankers and they will all need to be decked out in lovely black dresses, recruit boots, tuxedos with battered jungle hats and diamond tipped canes for that added bling.

I've got ~1 banktab of Lichbloom that I restocked at 40g/stack after selling/flasking a tab worth (which was bought at 10g/stack). At this point, it's my only major hedge bet on Cata inflation. I'm actually debating increasing the threshold to 45g until I fill another tab or so.

MMO datamined some new guild acheivements including one called Guild Vault - Purchased all 8 Guild tabs.

Unless that's a typo, I guess we can count on buying 2 additional tabs for our existing personal storage banks...I just wonder what they'll be charging for them.

I'm just guessing here, but if we look at the progress 100-250-500-1000-2500-5000 we're most likely looking at 10K and 25K for those last two tabs
Next up, we start a forum "Riches To Rags" for people that got to post in the 30K thread and then decided to buy those last two tabs

I think most posters here are underestimating Blizzard... :o
and are going to pay dearly for it.
They have allocated more developer man hours to updating crafting in Cata than on developing new content!
There WILL be a full set of epic gems at release etc...

I think most posters are underestimating the Chinese bots...
and are going to pay dearly for it.
The Cata release is like Christmas to the botters. They are excited and have been making plans for the last year!

Dump you Netherweave. They will be replaced by new bags. PERIOD
It will take the bots about 4 hours to FLOOD the AH with cheap materials.
By the end of the first day Netherweave bags will have about as much demand as a Runecloth Bag.
Botters will supply all the mats you need for any profession in HUGE quanities.
MAX every profession on every possible character.
In the age of Cata, you will make money from your skills not from farming!

Rerolls:
People are ALREADY rerolling.
Except for the new race/class combos there will be minimum new characters.
On the other hand, if you could figure out what server Bliz is gonna set as the Recommended for New Players server...

Glyphs:
There will be a TREMENDOUS demand for glyphs at first.
There will be demand for ALL glyphs, not just the few most useful ones as people fill out their glyph book.

There is ONLY one resource you need to stockpile between now and Cata... Gold!

In summary:
To prepare for Cata with the highest risk/reward ratio:
1. Max professions in both level and number of characters.
2. Max your Gold! Get Gold Capped!

ps... Remember to purge the saved data files for your add-ons like auctioneer from the WTF folder before you first log in to Cata!

Herb and mining nodes haven't even been added into the beta, and I doubt they will be until right before release (to lessen the chance of botters in the beta making new programs for the live release). I seriously doubt the AH will be flooded, it will be a few weeks before the bots have all the spawn points and optimal routes and are configured for the new patch.

How do you know there will be epic gems on release? I haven't heard anything like that and it doesn't follow the last two expansions' patterns.

Imo Golden is very far off with his predictions about gems, mats, bots, stockpilling, rerolls, value of gold and probably also glyphs.
