Maybe late in the game when everybody already has the stock they plan to ride into the patch with but I wanted to get some comments from the group about which glyphs are prime to go from a not hot glyph to one everybody is gonna want (I don't want to be out of the big sellers too soon). I plan on having an extra stack or two of the ones that make the most sense.

I was looking into rogue glyphs because it's one of my two main raiding classes and here's my thoughts.

Backstab
going from a rupture refresh which valued mostly by one spec of rogues (combat) to energy regen which any spec can appreciate, but add to that the 'murderous intent' talent - "When you Backstab an enemy that is below 35% health, you instantly recover [15/30] Energy" and your going to get sales based at the very least on testing heavy amounts of backstabbing in your rotation. I don't know how ptr testing has gone on this but it's very enticing just from reading it over.

Gouge
Gouge goes from energy cost reduction to being able to gouge whether behind the target or not. May be huge for pvp and I think it is currently hardly used at all.

Feint
Not changing but a good glyph that just didn't have room before primes are added. Gives you a free energy cost on a skill that gives threat reduction and ae damage reduction. I'll very likely be using this glyph after 4.0

Hemmorage
Now the damage increase is over 24 seconds and not only while affected by hemmorage. Hemmorage used to drop nearly immediately after applying when you're fighting a boss so the uptime of the buff is now reliable. (I don't play hemo but the difference seems quality)

Preparation
I think this change will create buyers based primarily on PVPers getting smoke bomb resets instead of blade furry. Blade furry isn't likely spec'd in the first place with Prep and smoke bomb just sounds annoying and fun and very rougish and likely to cause so much qq and, and maybe it's boring but I can't wait to see it.

~~others

Polymorph
Another poster mentioned the increased need for Polymorph Glyph do to the CC requirements of new dungeons being necessary. I just couldn't find it again when I made this post.

...and on the other side of things
Glyphs that I've downgraded
Fan of Knives goes from +20% damage to +range I think the loss is greater than the benefit and I likely will drop it from my ae spec for trash and farming old instances

Sinister Strike
reduced the % fro 50 to 20 to add an additional combo point

Trick of the Trade
This will be replaced in my glyphs as they changed it to a free energy cost for the trick but 5% reduction of recipients damage instead of the old - normal energy cost tricks lasting 4 seconds longer that buffed the recipients damage by 15%.
BOOOHISS

These are all imo and based on what we know atm and of course we don't know if these changes will go live or will be changed again. I was just interested in which glyphs I should use my last stocks of ink on making an extra stack or two.

Ill be checking out Warlocks next as it's the other class i regularly play.

I'm pretty sure that on Patch Day, Blizz could come out with a Glyph of Pooper Scooper of the Wolf for Shammies and it would sell well.

But to answer your question in the general sense...

All glyphs will sell on Patch Day. I suspect the most popular glyphs will sell a little SLOWER than the unpopular ones, because everybody usually has the popular ones already. Hope this helps. Let us know how you did after Patch day.

My PTR mage build has Polymorph simply because there was nothing better (IMO) to put in the slot. This is most useful in PvP and situational in PvE (you're doing a sheep pull generally, so mobs shouldn't already have dots on them). It will sell.

On my server I really think there are going to be periods when the best selling glyphs will be totally out. Backstab for instance could be the rouge glyph that no one really uses that everyone will be using. So I'll focus on some better bets instead of using the herbs I can get before Tuesday making an even number of everything.

I know it's more thought than is necessary to cash in on this event but I'm bored and waiting for kickoff so I'm looking for angles as usual. :P

I will definitely be picking up Glyph of Pooper Scooper of the Wolf for a couple of my stinky guildies.

There's no doubt that some glyphs are going to be highly desirable in the coming patch. The issue is most people aren't in the beta and won't know what is good until someone at elitistjerks or wow.com tell them which glyphs to buy. Even then that is a minority. It will take months of testing for people to figure out what glyphs are the "best". In the meantime people are going to just buy them all because they have a boatload of money and it is now a one time purchase.

My plan is to do both ... make as many glyphs as I can before 4.0.1 (I am ignoring minor glyphs fwiw) then watch trade chat for people looking for glyphs that have run out. I have no doubt this is going to happen as like you said ... the demand for some glyphs will have them in a perpetual out of stock state. I'm planning to use that and beancounter to judge what glyphs to focus on post patch.

Another one you will definatly want to have in stock is glyph of divine storm. No ret pally really uses that but its gonna get turned into glyph of templars verdict. EVERY SINGLE ret pally will need that glyph. Its gonna be a HUGE seller since paladins are one of the most played classes as well.

There are more glyphs like these, take a look in the thread about all the glyphs that are changing.

Starting this thread over because I titled it oddly. Most probably think it's meant to read not too hot glyphs. So I'm Just gonna move everything in quotes.
