At this moment in time, I'm currently 10 points from 525. I will be finishing the leveling tonight investing the money to get there.

From that point on, at 525, it's going to cost 15 maelstorm crystals to get the 3 high priced enchants costing roughly 15k.

Is the 15k(give or take) investment worth it to the people who use this/or have done this, if I solely played the AH with these enchants?

Looking at it on the Undermine, It's showing Power Torrent selling at right around 7800. If I made and sold even 5 of these alone not counting the other enchants, it would pay for my entire investment outright(minus creation costs).

Is that pretty sound in theory? Or am I missing something? Glyphing is great, but I see a ton of potential here to buy into high level enchants and make ten fold what I make glyphing.

Advice? Ideas?

The only thing in my opinion to worry about would be the cheap ms crystals coming with the next patch. Since the ZG/ZA epics will be disenchantable you will see cheaper Maelstrom crystals than now. Also with ms crystals being able to be bought with jp, this will drive the price down.

This means that if you spent the 15k now, you would have to sell those enchants before the next patch, which is possible, but i know of many people on my server that are jsut waiting for the next patch to buy the three weapon enchants.

On my server most respectable guild fund one pattern of each and they provide their member/raider with top enchant with all crystal disenchanted from raid. There is no market.

Indeed. I accidentally made two Lavawalker scrolls a month ago (when Maelstrom Crystals were much more expensive) and neither has sold yet. I lose.

I wouldn't (and in fact I haven't) invest in any of the recipes that require maelstrom crystals at this time. The scrolls are insanely expensive, so very few of them sell. And we can expect a sharp drop in crystal price any week now, so if you drop that 15k, a month from now you'll wish you had waited to make the same investment for (say) 5k.

I would recommend figuring out what other scrolls are profitable and focus on those. I know there are threads in this forum about it. Notably, check out some of the Wrath era scrolls. Many of them sell very well, and with Abyssal Shatter, mats are way cheap.

My plan is to invest in the maelstrom market in maybe another month or 2.

When you have short amount of money to invest my experience as proven that is always best to go for qte sales with small profit over small amount of sale with a possibility of huge profit.

Find a way to get cheap essence / dust, get a good grasp on cost of each scroll (addon help a lot) create one of each, dont enter a undercut war, instead do some timing posting (at the good moment) check what is selling and what not.

Create 4 scroll of everything you sell.
Post / repost/ rerepost those with a floor price that assure profit.
Snatch scroll when they go below you cost price.
Make sure to identify wich scroll are in the (leveling enchanting critical path) they are always cheaper then cost and you cant reset them

Instead of trying to make high price scroll you may wanna try to reset the maelstrom market when the qte is low. You can easily do 500 gold per crystal doing that.

While it is true there is little to no market for these enchants on the AH as scrolls, I have done the enchant for a whole host of people through the trade channel. If I am on my enchanter, my trade bark mentions that I have all the top-end enchants. If I am on a different toon and I happen to see someone looking for enchant X, I whisper and ask how much they are prepared to tip, reminding them that it IS a top-end enchant AND that I will be logging an alt to do it for them.

So far the cheapest customer I have had gave me 250g, the best customer gave me 1k.

As I personally didnt even feel the bite of investing in the maelstroms for the enchant I didnt see any reason not to, and so far I have easily made 5-6k back purely in tips.

In your case, I would however consider that with the new patch bringing more easily available maelstroms, not only can you learn the recipes cheaper, but there will be mjore people able to afford the mats and buy these via trade.

Yea, I made one scroll to test the water, it's been a week and still hasn't sold. I will however be buying these enchants when the new patch hits today. I'm excited, because hopefully this opens up something on the AH to make some kind of profit.
