I am not a fan, he is a bit to arrogant for my taste. Apparently I was not the only since even bribing a top guild with gold got tiresome and said guild dropped his ass.

I have to admit that the only reason I read Gevlon's blog is to have a good laugh at the man himself.
Concerning the picture it's one of those conversations where the poster basically owns himself and doesn't even realize it.
I would've thought that declining someone on the basis of their character's name would go against what that "PuG"-thing, which he has going, stands for.
People also loose any respect they might have had with me when they start calling people in the game "kiddies" or "retards".
The average age for a WoW player is around 25-30 according to what I've read, and calling people "kid" is just a poor excuse for saying something which has no substance at all.

Another thing I love about Gevlon is how he sometimes politicizes the must mundane of in-game things and goes on a rant to bash "the social" and "the leeches of society". Seeing connections where there are none. Bashing social guilds for being "social" and thinking it somehow has something to do with socialism.

It's a fun read.. even if it's only to see Gevlon kick himself in the face.

In a way, I have to thank Gevlon for getting me really interested in the auction house, and the "gold game."

However, I stopped reading his blog a long time ago, and recently removed it from my RSS feed. It's sad because I do feel like he had some interesting economic theories, and his cut-throat businessman attitude always made me smile. But these days, he just does "social" experiments, and rants about "S&M."

That being said, I don't think excluding someone for their naming choice is right necessarily, but I don't see how that goes against the "PUG" mentality. Pugs often set criteria for invites.

Also, I have totally excluded people based on their names. I am looking at you person on my server who has every single vowel with an accent!

"It's your loss."

I wonder when that argument is ever going to make a difference.

I feel like trolling him with a random alt, but then again it would only feed him with an amusing picture in a posts.

He was one of the first with a detailed Inscription guide at his post and the reason for many to follow writing about it. I think he did figure that market out by himself so surely he does know how to earn gold, but his attitude is a bit unique from others. I'm still following the blog for the occasional amusing or informative post and their replies.

My experience is fairly similar to Easternwinds; Gevlon inspired me to kick gold making up to the next level but I no longer read his blogs because of how much of a retard he is

I'm moving his site from "Gold Blogs" on my blog roll to "Other Sites." He has posted maybe 1 gold making article per month and it tends to be on inscription. I occasionally check his site for a good laugh at the man himself as someone else pointed out in this thread, but the gold tips make me want to pull my eyes out because they are all theory with little to no testing.

agreed, he should do more articles on gold but on that specific issue I can agree with him. He has his rule set and does not want rofllols ^^^;D etc. The fact that rofldots thinks that his name is original and that Gevlon now has a powerful enemy just proved Gevlon was right(imo).

And there are some people I wouldn't allow on my vent based solely on their names. Names that could only be chosen by vile, insulting, or bigoted people. Why would I choose to listen to them?
